IIIT Trichy Teaching Faculty Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: (As on)

1. Assistant Professor Grade II - Ph. D. Relevant Experience: None Other essential requirements: None

2. Assistant Professor Grade II - Ph. D. Relevant Experience: 01 year of Post Ph.D Experience Other essential requirements: One paper accepted for publication in SCI Journal

3. Assistant Professor Grade I - Ph. D. Relevant Experience: 03 years of post Ph.D. experience or 06 years total experience (not counting Ph.D Enrolment period) Other essential requirements: 02 papers in SCI Journals outside Ph.D. work. One ongoing sponsored project for candidates from academia. 2 experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate

4. Associate Professor - Ph. D. Relevant Experience: 06 years post Ph.D experience or 09 Years total (not counting Ph.D Enrolment period) out of which 03 years should be after Ph.D. 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor with AGP of Rs.8000 or its equivalent in 7th CPC in a reputed university, R&D Lab or relevant industry. Other essential requirements: 04 Papers in SCI journals after Ph.D; one Ph.D guided as sole or principal supervisor plus one continuing. Two projects ongoing or one ongoing plus one completed. Two experiments or computational projects added to teaching laboratories where appropriate. Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed short-term courses should have been organized or conducted.

5. Professor - Ph. D. Relevant Experience: 10 years post Ph.D experience or 13 years total experience (not counting Ph.D enrolment period) out of which 07 years are to be after Ph.D.; At least three years to be at Associate Professor level in an Institution of repute. Other essential requirements: Two Ph.D degrees guided in Career as sole or principal supervisor. The following during the past 04 years. i) 03 papers in SCI Journals. ii) One High value sponsored or consultancy project iii) Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed courses offered as coordinator and main teacher. iv) Two experiments or computational design projects with added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.

Eligible degrees and Specializations: The areas of specializations of various departments are given below. The essential minimum academic qualification for the all the posts must be PhD in respective discipline and shall have First Class in preceding degree. Candidates having Ph.D. degree directly after B.Tech. are also eligible and they should have obtained First Class at Bachelor’s level.

1. Computer Science and Engineering Assistant Professor  Grade I & II: B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent and M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent along with Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science and Engineering in the subject areas given below. Professor / Associate Professor: B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering and M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering /Information Technology or its equivalent along with Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science and Engineering in the subject areas given below. Computer Organization and Architecture, Theoretical Computer Science, Compiler Design, Computer Networks, Network Security, Data Analytics, Image processing, and Software Engineering.

2. Electronics and Communication: Engineering B.E/B.Tech (ECE or equivalent) and M.E/M.Tech (ECE or equivalent) with Ph.D in the following specializations: Fiber Optic Communication, Communication Systems, VLSI Design, Microelectronics, Nano Electronics, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing and Microwave Engineering.

3. Mechanical Engineering:  B.E./B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering or equivalent) and M.E./M.Tech. (Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Design, CAD/CAM or equivalent) with Ph.D. in the following specializations: Product Design and Development, Smart Materials & Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Robotics & Industrial Automation, Production Engineering

4. Mathematics: Ph.D. in any of the following areas of specialization with PG in Mathematics: Probability and Statistics, Game Theory, Theoretical Computer Science, Partial Differential equations, Algebraic Coding Theory

5. Physics: Ph.D. in any of the following areas of specialization with PG in Physics: Plasmonics and Photonics

6. English: Ph.D. in any of the following areas of specialization with PG in English: English Language Teaching and their relevant areas Ph.D. in any of the following areas of specialization with PG in Economics: Health Economics, Health Technology Assessments

Age Limit:

The Assistant Professor Grade-II post is purely on contract basis for a fixed period of 5 years. Preferable age limit is 35 years for Assistant Professor (Grade II AGP ₹ 6000). Age relaxation will be given for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD as per the GoI norms.

 

Salary Details:

1. Assistant Professor Grade II - Rs. 70,900/- at Pay level 10

2. Assistant Professor Grade II - Rs. 71,000/- at Pay level 11.

3. Assistant Professor Grade I - Rs.1,01,500 at Pay level 12.

4. Associate Professor - Rs.1,39,600/- at Pay level 13A2.

5. Professor - Rs. 1,59,100 at Pay level 14A.

 

IIIT Trichy Teaching Faculty Selection Process 2022:

IIIT Trichy may follow the following process to select the candidates.

Assistant Professor (Grade II & Grade I): a) Written Test b) Seminar for shortlisted candidates based on written test performance. c) Interview for shortlisted candidates based on seminar performance.

Professor and Associate Professor: a) Seminar b) Interview for shortlisted candidates based on seminar performance.
