About DGAFMS: In March 1947 a committee named “Armed Forces
Medical Services and Research Integration Committee” headed by Dr BC Roy was
appointed by the Government of India to consider the integration of the three
medical services and medical research in the three services. The Committee recommended
that there should be three branches of the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services
i.e. Army, Navy and Air Force and that there should be a Supreme Controller of
all the three Medical Services designated as Director General of the Armed
Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) who would be the advisor to the Supreme
Commander or the Defence Minister as the case may be, regarding the medical
needs of the Armed Forces. He will be the administrative head of the Armed
Forces Medical Services.

Selection Procedure for DGAFMS:
Selection Procedure: Selection
will be made on the basis of competitive examination which will consist of two
parts (a) Written Examination of 100 marks, and (b) typing test/short hand
test/trade test applicable to the post & will be of qualifying nature. The
written test will consist of multiple choice questions of (i) General
intelligence and Reasoning (ii) Numerical Aptitude (iii) General English and
(iv) General Awareness. Written examination will be of two (02) hours duration.
The standard of written test will be based on the minimum education
qualification prescribed for the post. Candidates, who qualify the written
examination, will be called for typing test/short hand test/ trade test
applicable to the post applied for. The number of candidates to be called for
typing test/short hand test/ trade test will be five to seven times of the
number of vacancies.
How to apply
for DGAFMS Group C Civilian Post:
The duly filled in Application
in the format given herein below (neatly typed in English/Hindi on A4 size
paper) and admit card along with the following documents should reach the
concerned Unit/Depot on or before the last date of receipt of application:-
(a) Self attested documents in
support of Education Qualification, Age, Technical Qualification, Physically
Handicapped, Experience Certificate & Caste Certificate (issued by the
competent civil authorities in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates) etc.
(b) In case of appointment of
OBC candidates against the reserved quota, the candidates belonging to the
caste of OBC listed under Central list are only eligible for appointment to
Central Services. The latest rules with regard to creamy layer in OBC are to be
followed. Candidates seeking reservation as OBC is required to submit a
certificate alongwith application to the effect that he/she does not belong to
any of the creamy layer.
(c) In case of ex-serviceman
self attested photocopy of discharge book.
(d) The self attested passport
size recent photograph duly affixed on the application, and two additional same
passport size photographs to be attached. (e) Self addressed (English/Hindi)
envelope with stamp(s) of Rs. 25/- pasted thereon.
(f) Separate application for
each post should be submitted. Applicant to mention clearly on the envelope
"APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF AND CATEGORY and should send the application
to THE COMMANDANT/COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE CONCERNED UNITS/DEPOT where
applicant wishes to apply.
(g) The format of admit card
and application form can also be downloaded from official website of Indian
Army www.indianarmy.nic.in under DGAFMS webpage in 'NEWS' column.

(h) Candidates will fill in the
application form and Admit Card in his/her own handwriting and send it to
concerned unit where they wish to apply for the concerned post by
Registered/Ordinary post only.
(i) Filled in Admit Card by the
applicant will be scrutinized by the concerned unit and will be sent back to
the candidate at the given address.
j) Last date: - The last date
for receipt of Application Form in the concerned unit/depot is 30th day from
the date of publication of this advertisement in Employment News i.e. 09 Aug
2021.
