Qualification: Candidates who have passed Engineering Degree or are
studying in the final year examination of Engineering course are eligible to
apply. The
candidates appearing in the final year examination of Degree Course should be
able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of
commencement of training at OTA. Such candidates will be inducted on Additional
Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at OTA as notified from time to
time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid, in case they fail to
produce the requisite Degree Certificate.
Age Limit:
(i) SSC(Tech)-47 Men and
SSC(Tech)-18 Women:- 20 to 27 years as on 01 Oct 2016. (Candidates born between
02 Oct 89 and 01 Oct 96 both dates inclusive).
(ii) For widows of
Defence Personnel with four years age relaxation- SSCW(Non Tech) – 19 to 29
Years. Born not earlier than 02 Jul 87 and not later than 01 Jul 97 (Both dates
inclusive)
Pay Scale: Rs. 21,000/-

Academy (SSC Course for Men) - Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than
2nd January 1992 and not later than 1st January 1998 only are eligible.
For Officers' Training
Academy - Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not
remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have
not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd
January 1992 and not later than 1st January 1998.
For Air Force Academy - 20 to 24 Years as on 1st January 2017 i.e. born not earlier
than 02 January 1993 and not later than 01 January 1997 (Upper age limit for
candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA
(India) is relaxable upto 26 Yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 02 January 1991
and not later than 01 January 1997) only are eligible.
For Indian Naval Academy - Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January
1993 and not later than 1st January 1998 only are eligible.
For Indian Military Academy
- Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than
2nd January 1993 and not later than 1st January 1998 only are eligible.

Qualification: The minimum educational qualification for appointment to
Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious Teacher) will be Graduate in any
discipline from a recognized university. In addition to this they must also
possess following qualification according to the religious denomination of the
individual:-
(i) Pandit - Hindu candidates with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in
Hindi or equivalent standard in the regional language concerned. OR Those who
have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of the elective (Main) subjects but
have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan in Hindi.
(ii) Granthi - Sikh Candidates with Vidwan in Punjabi or equivalent standard
in the regional language concerned OR Those who have passed BA with Punjabi as
one of the elective (main) subjects but have not done Vidwan in Punjabi.
(iii) Padre - Christian
candidates who have been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical
authority and are still on the approved list of the local Bishop.
(iv) Budhist - Budhist (Mahayana) candidates who have been ordained
Monk/Budhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority. The term Appropriate
Authority will mean Head Priest of the Monastery where the person has been
initiated into priesthood. The head priest should be in possession of Geshe (Ph
D) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with proper certificate from Monastery.
(v) Pandit (Gorkha) for
Gorkha Regiment - Hindu (Gorkha) candidates
with Madhyama in Sanskrit. OR Bhushan in Hindi or equivalent standard in the
Nepali Language. OR Those who have passed BA with Sanskrit / Hindi as one of
the elective (Main) subjects but have not done Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhushan
in Hindi.
(vii) Maulvi (Shia) for
Ladakh Scouts - Muslim Shia ladakh
personnel candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent
standard in the regional language concerned. OR Those who have passed BA with
Arabic/Urdu as one of the elective (Main) subject but who have not done Maulvi
Alim in Arabic/ Adib Alim in Urdu.
Age Limit:
(i) Civilian Candidates.
